Internet Services and Offerings

ERACC can build, install and develop your web presence from planning phase and ordering a domain name to hardware installation and software setup to LAN to WAN connectivity. Get your own web and e-mail server in-house with your own domain name and unlimited e-mail addresses. ERACC can supply all the hardware and software needed to get you connected. Or use our recommended web host PowWeb for hosting your web site. As of January 2009 PowWeb hosted sites cost $93.24 per year (or $23.31 per quarter). A ".com" domain from GoDaddy will cost around $9/US per year. As of 2008 we recommend using the Drupal content management framework for web sites. For more information please contact us.

Some web sites for which ERACC Internet Development has done work:

This is a sample list, not exhaustive.

www.jacksonmobilphone.com - Jackson Mobilphone Company is a mobile phone and alpha-numeric, message and voice pager business located in Jackson, Tennessee USA. The web site is incomplete and has turned out to be a long-term, ongoing project developing slowly. This was the first project ERACC Internet Development took on around 1998 - 1999. It uses some CGI and is primarily a project to implement e-mail message paging. This means work on the web pages is secondary. The message paging involves taking an e-mail message and converting it via custom software to a format that a Glenayre paging terminal can use. The CGI work was done to do the same thing using a web form. The internet server is connected to the Glenayre with a serial cable and the custom software converts the e-mail and "talks" to the Glenayre.

www.redlineg.com - Red Line Gauge & Clock Repair is a gauge and clock repair business specializing in General Motors® vehicle gauges and clocks for more than 30 years. Red Line is located near Humboldt, Tennessee USA. This is a static site to display their catalog online. The online catalog does not include all makes and models of GM® vehicles that Red Line services. The latest incarnation of this site was done by one of the owners. We simply helped fix a few problems that their Microsoft software had created. We also helped get their logo on the pages and get the result uploaded. We also update the pricing for the products listed on the static pages when needed. This site may be moving to dynamic content using Drupal in the future.

LaDonna Bella Salon and Spa - We have not worked on this site in quite a while. It appears to now be off-line so we removed the URL. La Donna Bella Salon & Day Spa was a site that was originally created using some poorly designed templates by a third party. It also resided on a "simple" web management site for Spas that is not really all that simple. So the Spa owner asked ERACC Internet Development to clean it up and add content. As of April 2007 we were about half-way done with the changes as we only had a small budget for each month from the site owner. Unfortunately cleaning up the poorly designed pages was time consuming and really "ate up" the time alloted. In any case using Firefox or Opera web browsers to view the site one could see the fixed pages that rendered properly versus the poorly designed pages that only rendered in Microsoft Internet Exploder. We relied heavily on HTML tidy to find some of the problems with these pages. Other problems were design related that required examining the code line by line to find where the rendering was going awry. This was still a work in progress as of January 2008 but now appears dead.

Of course we do all our own work on www.eracc.com, shopping.eracc.com and blog.eracc.com using Drupal, Drupal + Ubercart and WordPress respectively.
